Our Premiere 4K Program!
Dream Christian Academy
Dream Christian Academy will officially open Fall of 2025! The continued vision of Living A Dream Childcare and Learning Ministry is to encourage and model the love and teachings of Jesus Christ to all children and their families. DCA is the continuation of a Christian education and learning experience, as well as a Bible-based curriculum to children who are turning 4 before September 1st, and are eligible to enroll in a 4K program.
Our private 4K program will implement a variety of holistic activities, including a full 10-month themed, Bible-based curriculum, and ongoing opportunities for review and individual assessment. We will focus on helping all students achieve growth in the following key areas:
- Language Development and Communication
- Cognitive Development
- Mathematical Thinking and Expression
- Early Literacy
- Health and Physical Development
- Social and Emotional Development
- Approaches to Play and Learning
We recognize that all children learn at different paces and in a variety of ways. We will encourage the use of holistic lessons and activities in our 4K classrooms, and will regularly make necessary changes to grow with our students' needs throughout the year.
We currently have two 4K classrooms, our 4K class, and our 4K+ class. Students who are not old enough to start kindergarten because of a late birthday often require a different learning approach than their younger peers. We are able to address the need for these varying milestones to be nurtured differently, between our younger and older 4 year olds.
A detailed description is shared below of the key learning goals targeted within our Dream Christian Academy 4K program. Our bible-based curriculum is interactive, and includes activities and lessons that feature guided instruction and application related to these key learning goals. These are the primary focuses of the curriculum and classroom structure for our 4K students throughout the academic school year.
Look out for our future addition of 5K Kindergarten soon!
Cognitive Development
Our 4K students will grow and develop through the use of a variety of learning activities that will nurture and develop their:
-
Language and literacy: by expanding their vocabulary, developing listening skills, and pre-reading abilities.
-
Numeracy: by developing a foundational understanding of numbers, counting, and basic math concepts.
-
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: by encouraging curiosity, exploration, and the ability to think critically.
Creative Expression
We encourage our 4K students to express themselves creatively through a variety of interactive activities and projects in music, art, and imaginative play.
Our 4K students have art and music daily, as a part of their daily learning schedule and each are intricately woven into their curriculum.
Physical Development
We believe it is critical for our students to partake in activities that will encourage their development physically. Our 4K students will take part in activities that strengthen their gross motor skills and fine motor skills.
Preparation for Kindergarten (5K)
Our teachers work closely with each students creating developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that help build foundational skills that will support success in kindergarten and beyond.
Love of Learning
Dream Christian Academy not only seeks to lay a strong biblical foundation for our students. We are committed to fostering a positive attitude towards learning and continued curiosity about the world in every child. We believe this focus encourages them to adapt to a variety of learning environments, and follows them throughout their academic journey, helping them to appreciate and value the process of learning new things.
Social-Emotional Development
Now, more than ever, we are committed to helping shape our students' social and emotional development, so that they experience the following:
-
Positive Social Interactions - developing the ability to interact positively with peers, adults, and the environment
-
Self-Regulation - learning to recognize and manage emotions, follow rules, and take turns
-
Independence and Self-Help Skills - developing independence in areas like dressing, using the restroom, and cleaning up.
